Our Business 

Based in San Francisco, we focus on custom surfboards.  At Las Olas Surfboards specialize in performance surfboards in the 6' to 8' plus range.  We also make funboards and fish as well as "retro" shapes (single fin, width forward, down rails, ect.) all fully customizable and designed to your specifications.  

We now also offer "eco-foam" surfboards; rather than using traditional polyurethane which is  petroleum based, these blanks are comprised of 50% sugar.  They are also made using a different chemical process than traditional PU boards, this process releases fewer Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's)- which damage the atmosphere and ozone. These blanks are safer for the manufactures and shapers who work with them and have less of an environmental impact.  Boards made using this technology are lively and flexible, have a pure, snow white color and are available at no extra cost. 

Las Olas also focuses on creating distinguished and personalized artwork on our boards.  Please browse our photo gallery to see some of our work, or for ideas for yourself.  Las Olas Surfboards can also make boards with images that you create yourself.  Be it a drawing or sketch, or a photograph taken by you, at Las Olas Surfboards we can screen the image onto a special cloth that can be glassed into the board for a crisp and clear, fully custom board.  Please contact us for more details on how to send your images, because life's too short to ride a boring board.

Las Olas Surfboards is owned and  operated by James Mitchell and is based out of San Francisco, Ca. 

Las Olas was founded in order to offer unique and personalized equipment for surfers looking to escape the larger surf industry and its commodification of the boards we use and the activity we love.
